You gotta be kidding me. Do you do any kind of research before posting? That is not an old Si. IT'S THE EP3 Civic Type R! The FN2 CTR (the one shown on the video) is not a highly praised Type R. They were only offered in the European market. Kind of the ugly step-child of the Type R's. So, you're right, they did screw up with that model. But, they quickly made up for it by releasing the FD2 CTR.

Every time I see him stick his nose in one of the CR threads, I challenge him if he's driven one yet. Well Ruprecht, Have you driven one yet???

It's finally nice enough here in Indiana that I am going to take my CR out for a drive, then I am going to take the Mugen out for a spin, and then I may even blow the dust off of the 993. That will be a lot more fun than trying to convince people how much fun the CR really is.
Don't worry, I could care less about what that guy thinks. Doesn't even know his Honda's. By Mugen, are you talking about the new Mugen Civic? Man, you get all the toys! I've only seen one of those here in town. Pretty sweet.

I would get a base. The CR is not worth the extra money.

Base. The CR is not worth an even trade for a std model...forget the premium charge.

I don't get it. The CR is a 3K premium or so over the base model. That premium itself is just enuff for hardtop ... I'm scratching my head

Anyway, I don't think this argument will ever end. The CR isn't a car for everyone. If one doesn't like it? Then don't buy it. It's as simple as that ...

The term 'base' is a bit misleading. The cars were introduced in the wrong order.

The CR is 'base'.

You can 'upgrade' to the full S trim and get:

$1,000.00 - AC and Audio Kit
$ 131.37 - Jack and Tools Kit
$ 99.52 - Spare Rim Kit
$2,230.00 - Soft Top Frame Kit
$1,590.87 - Soft Top Fabric Kit
$10,868.78 - 2 seats (Leather Seat Kit 16,417.04 offset with CR Seat Kit 5,548.26)
========
$15,920.54

Almost 16 grand in upgrades and save 3k on the premium CR charge for a whopping increase in value of $19,000.

That represents almost 70% of the value of the entire car.

The extent of Ruprecht's argument is that Honda is fleecing CR customers because the CR seats are supposedly $5,500 cheaper than the base leather seats.
