That extra second around a track the CR has over a base S2k is easily made up with Bilstein PSS9s, decent wheels/tires, and I/H/E/tune.
No it isn't. A I/H/E tune does absolutely nothing for an S2000. But feel free to spend the money if you want to.

I owned a MY03 for over three years and dropped the top on it maybe 10 times total. Seriously.

To me, riding around with the top down is extremely overrated. You're entitled to your opinion but I could care less about the convertible aspect.
Then you're not a convertible guy.
10 times? jeez, I put my top down 10 times a week.

I'll admit though, I don't like the LOOKS of a softtop.
That's the reason why I bought the hardtop, and I've started to love it so much that I'm thinking of keeping it on for another month or two.

You should consider a hardtop if you don't like the "convertible aspect."

but the downside about CR is that I will not be able to put the top down or up whenever I want to.
Exactly why I think the CR is a stupid idea from Honda...

Can't put the top down on a CRX either, but that doesn't make it a stupid idea.

The base model is the more practical of the two.
It should sell for less (used) than the CR and thus it will sell easier than the CR.
In the very long run though, it will probably be the CR that winds up as the most desireable and may hold its value better than the base model.

and the keyword there is "TO YOU". Yes, whether it's the weather in your area or your personality for not going top-down, being able to go top-down was a deciding factor for many of us.

You bet.

If the S were not a convertible, I would never have even considered purchasing it.

My top is down all the time. It might be top up 5 times in a year...when caught in rain or after dark on the edge of the season when the temp drops big a night and my girlfriend gets cold.
