A short, ricey story
So last night I went to a car meet near UCR. It was in a small shopping center, and a lot of cars showed up. There was a tuned 335i, my friend's ridiculous sleeper WRX, Evo's, etc etc... A lot of cars that I really like, and respect, even if the owners are morons.
But at one point, a procession of ****** loud, riced out Civic Si FD2 sedans rolled up. Fog-lights (one of them only had one fog-light functional), JDM stickers, front lips with writing/graffiti shit on them, carbon fiber hoods, etc etc...
It was just so lame. It was a big part of why I parked away from them, because I really feel like some people think the term ricer should embody them and the way they design their car or something. They take it way too literally.
And it's not that all Hondas are ricey. My friend brought his H22A-swapped Del Sol, which is a beast, and my cousin's EM1 Si is pretty damn slick.
I really feel like the latest Civic Si's have the highest 'rice factor' of all Hondas, what with the ones I see daily in the IE. I don't think even the RSX crowd is as ricey as what I've seen with the new Si's.
I'm really starting to believe that, like the NSX, the S2000 really can't be grouped in with the rest of the Hondas.

There are plenty of f-ed up S2000s to go around.
i think what the OP is tryin to say is that, more often than not, we see civics riced out more than s2000/nsx. s2000/nsx are on another tier of cars IMO

Civics have always been cheap, so they've been riced to hell for a long time now. Now S2000s are getting cheap, and that same crowd is ricing the hell out of S2000s. There's a growing number of S2000 owners that have no interest in actually driving the car - they just want to pose and cruise and do photo shoots with their JDM bling anymore.
It is what it is, my advice is enjoy your S no matter what you do with it, don't worry so much about others.

S2000s are cheap now but thankfully I haven't seen too many riced out ones. I have noticed lately around here that I don't see too many riced out cars. It's great. No obnoxious exhausts, no big wings, no stickers. Perhaps people are realizing those things are not cool.

As much as I like the ASM and J's Racing stuff, I think I am always going to keep my car's exterior stock (oem lip is the exception, definately looks great.)
As long as people arent rolling around on chrome wheels its all good I guess.

The older and more affordable used S2000's become...the more "ricing" will be done to S2000's....sad reality. When you can buy a 2000 Honda S2000 for $5,000 (which is soon)....every 17 year old ricer will own one.
