Default Shiny line on soft top

I have noticed that there are some shiny lines between the first 2 support bars on the soft top. There is no wear are anything and I dont have the top up and down all the time. I rinsed off the top and wiped with a damp cloth but they are still there. I have only noticed this recently. Do I need a vinyl cleaner to make these go away?

Sounds like rubbed smooth. It won't go away without something like scuffing it up with a wire brush, but you could compromise your top integrity. I'd just leave it alone. Or else make the whole top shiny.

Try some Raggtopp protectant.

There were shiny lines over the support bars on my s2k when I bought it.
They were much less noticeable after a few applications of raggtopp.

This has only appeared after the last two times or so I have put the top back down and up, does it really wear that fast?

Is this pretty common or am I over reacting?

Common, don't worry about it.

Mine has the shiny lines along the bars. As others have said, putting some vinyl protectant on the top will greatly reduce the appearance.

On another note, my in-laws just had a 2010 Mustang vert for a rental while their car was in the shop. Same lines, but it has something like 5 bars.

Totally common.
