Default shifting when cold

Does anyone else have a difficult time shifting the S into certain gears when it is cold outside/vehicle isn't warmed up (more than other manual transmission vehicles)?

Yes, this is normal. It also takes the trans longer to warm up than the Engine. So just because your temp gauge says you are warmed up, it still may be a bit untili the shifting is smooth.

This is true for pretty much any manual trans.
All the cars I have owned are harder to get into gear in the morning when it's cold outside.

The first 5 minutes of shifting totally sucks in my car. New fluid hasn't helped much, either.

agreed... if you live up north or have harsh winters a remote start is the best thing for fixing the problem or what i do is start the car about 5-10 minutes before i am ready to leave...

They will all be a little notchy when cold. Replace the tranny oil with the GMSMFM. And enjoy!

I respectfully disagree, my truck goes into any gear no matter how cold out it is, with ease. and my s2k is a total beotch to shift when its cold out. granted they are two diffrent breads. i drive the truck in the winter anyways. so the S not going into gear rarly bothers me

You need to let the tranny warm up.
