First, tell whoever told you that you need new clutch, go to hell.
I took my car out for a spin last night. Temperature was around 0 degree Ferenheit. My S2000 was untouched for a few days. It took me a while for my car to warm up and I went out and drove around for good 30min before putting her away. Had fun at an empty parking lots too. Anyways, I did noticed my transmission was hard to engage into and even my steering was slow until the car warmed up completely.
This is why I believe have the car sit through winter without running is actually bad for your car than driving it for good 30min to 1hour even during winter time. I will be taking her out tonight as well and let her run

On two occasions this week in the cold weather, when I pushed on the start button and the car started up, I released it and then the car didn't get enough "Juice" and didn't start. So on my second attemp I held the start button longer and it started up. Has this happened to anyone? Could it be that I just didn't hold the start button long enough the first time, or is something related to the cold?

i had a problem similar to this, several months after i had the clutch tsb done, i started having problems getting the car into gear. it started with just reverse. Then eventually it started doing it in first and eventually second as well. once the car was warmed up the problem would vanish. but when it was cold, i would have to shift into 3rd or 4th, and then put it into first. well long story short, when they had reassembled my car after doing the tsb, they had forgotten to grease some clutch or tranny part and eventually this is what caused the trouble, they said as it got worse, the cold weather didnt help. but they fixed it for free, and even provided a rental.
