Shift knob install help, please...
recently purchased a Voodoo aluminum shift knob with an engraved 6-speed gate pattern... install instructions call for Loc-Tite (Blue) to be used on the threads... so i put a drop of Loc-Tite on the shift rod threads, spun the knob clockwise to a snug fit, and rotated it counterclockwise a bit to align the gate pattern properly... i allowed six hours for dry time and hopped in for a ride; i jiggled the knob and it seemed secure... i hadn't made it to 2nd gear when the knob "broke" free and began to spin freely in my hand
did i not use enough of the Loc-Tite? the instructions on the packaging call for one drop, but should i coat more of the thread surface area?? i worry about not being able to loosen it in the future...
thanks

You need to use more then a drop. The directions assume you are installing a standard bolt (reads as small).
Don't worry about removal, just sell it with your car. (j/k ) As long as you are using the Blue, you will beable to remove it using your hand. It does take some elbox grease to get to off, but this is no way it will not come off. Now if you use Loc-Tite Red, you will need a torch
