Shift at 2-2.5k rpm
From 1st to 2nd gear from a stop, seems like most of the car behind me likes to switch lane and pass me up because it gives me impression that my car is slow. Is this normal speed when shifting at 2-2.5k rpm? Any one else having the same thing?
Thanks in advance

With a small displacement 4 cylinder engine such as ours you are not going to be able to accelerate all that fast if you shift at 2-2.5k rpms. Even around town I usually dont shift out of 1st until 3.5-4k rpm to allow me decent acceleration when I enter 2nd gear. Not sure if I answered your question...

If it's wet out I shift ealier, like 2.5 otherwise closer to 3.
The car feels better when you keep it above 2K and shifting before 3K means you're getting below 2K. I find the motor gets close to lugging, which is not good.

Op, I know exactly what you mean. When I am relaxing and shifting early traffic gets mad and attempts to go around me.
Since got my s i have been a super slow driver and I can see that I aggravate other drivers haha.
Dont be temtped by other drivers haha this car has no power at low rpms and thats why were going slow ...... O well
