Default Shell V Power

Just noticed at my local Shell that the 93 gas is now called V-Power...I wonder if there is any difference? better mileage? or something Road Rage? Just curious...I put it in my car anyway.

Don't know. But I read an industry estimate the other day that said most gasoline has only 1/10 of the detergents needed to provide optimum intake system cleanliness. Confirms what i already suspected, and have posted about in UTH with recommendations for proper aftermarket additives for fuel. Quo vide.

I do not recall, S. Try a search on "injector cleaners" - I will also look for it. I found most of them are kerosene.

Found it... I was using the wrong search words.

Here's the link for those interested.

I have yet to find a Chevron in Va Beach. It is my gas of choice. I have been using Techron before each oil change though.

Although I believe that we can not compare US and European fuel even under the same brand name, here in Greece you can actually feel the difference between the SHELL ordinary unleaded fuel and the SHELL Racing 99+.
I have tried V Power sometimes which lies between above two in specs & price but without noticing any significant differences.
Regarding the BP Ultimate 100, I can say that although the price is as high as the SHELL Racing you can't feel any difference, so it seems is preferable to fill your tank with V Power in case you want to save money.
I have read several tests comparing the top in line fuel of major petroleum companies and all conclude to the result that SHELL Racing 99+ is still in the first place (3 years available in the local market)
