Why do you care what anyone thinks.
I hear these kind of remarks all the time from bike owners. I normally ask what they ride and say that's cool and walk away.
He who dies with the most/nicest toys doesn't really mean squat.

Threads like these made my sell my s2k and buy an STi
My friend tells me for the money I spent he would've bought a mustang and made it 2 times as fast. Everytime I ask him, Is it always just about speed??? Come to think of it I dont' think he has ever responded to that.
The best one was when his younger brother told him his friends Dad bought a 95 tt supra w/ 12k miles for 44k. He was like why, its not that great of a car, and it only runs 13's stock! 44k is just way to much money for that car, ect....
Yes, its alot of money. But, its a TT Supra, how many do you see on the road?? Let alone a TT. He came back with the same, I would have bought a mustang and made it faster for cheaper bull crap.
I just sit back and laugh at him everytime. But, If you want cheap and fast the mustang is one of the easiest cars to do it with. Since about 90% of people have one, parts are all over the place for cheap. He is super cheap so, that explains that
I like to have a some what original car Most of my buddies like the car for what it is, but would still buy something cheaper and go faster. but, thats what they are into, not I!!
Ok, Sorry for the rant

I haven't figured out which threads I like better - this kind or the ones where someone posts an instant messenger conversation

I hear this sort of thing periodically as well.
If I'd wanted an STI, I'd have bought one.
If I'd wanted a Mustang, I'd have bought one.
I've actually been on a rant lately about how car manufacturers have been evolving toward the box shape and very few have nice curves and bulges in the areas that capture the imagination. Yes, the shape of the sheet metal matters as much to me as what's underneath it. In my own personal opinion, an STI would be awesome if it did't have to look like one.
I wanted an S2000. I bought one. I'm plenty happy.
What I like about my car isn't going to change because some other loser isn't happy with my car. He can go out and buy his own dreamcar hisowndamself instead of being disappointed I didn't buy it for him.

Thats the dumbest reason I've ever heard.

I'm with the folks who don't give two sh*ts what other people think. I'm 30 yrs old, married, with a 9 month old son. What some baggy pants punk thinks about my car at the local show n shine is the last thing on my mind. What matters is that I can take my family out shopping, dinner, whatever, RAIN or SNOW, and get home safe. And when I'm alone, I can pass a dude in 4th or 5th gear uphill and put a smile on my face.
The s2000 never did that for me. Sure, it was razor sharp, and the top down thing was nice - but it didn't make me smile on a daily basis when I drove it.
Diff'rent strokes for different folks fellas - #### the Devry guy and let his mom take him to school every day.
Thats what matters

I have both a S2000 and a STi and can vouch, without any doubt whatsoever, that the S2000 is the better car to take bong hits in. The large blind spot and small rear window provide the perfect cover. In the STi, by contrast, I always feel like somebody's watching me.
