Well, I'll have to say I'm pretty happy with state farm. I'm on my parents policy still and so my rate is 612/6 months with comp and collision and high other coverages.

I'm 20 right now and I know that when turning 21 in July I will be in a new age bracket. Anyone know what the price break is from going to the 21 bracket? I don't have any points and am accident free etc (good driving record).

I don't think you're going to see a drop, if any, turning 21. You'll see a 30%+ turning 25.

hmm, thats not very good news? can anyone confirm this? I thought that as you got older aka more experienced and less of a risk that the rates dropped. I know i'm listed as a "driver aged 19-20" on the policy so my logic was at 21 it would go down as I'd be in a new catagory.

Get married and have a child. Then you will see a hugh price drop..

but it you can't do that now..........wait until you turn 25.

yes, your perceived risk drops every year you age. thus, rates usually go down.

the risk model that just about every insurer uses shows a HUGE drop at 25. thus, rates drop a lot...30%+.

having one of their drivers hit you while THEY are at fault is PURE HELL.
Amen to that. My S2000 was wrecked by a State Farm driver last March and we are still fighting. Well, my lawyer is still fighting with them.

I'm 33, single, living in Southern California. I'm currently insured with SF my 90 Civic Hatchback and the 02 S2000. My 6 month premium for Civic(liability only) is $212 and my S2k(comprehensive) is $345. Of course the S2k is supposedly only a weekend leisure vehicle.

My coverage is up to 100k/300k, but my deductible's at $1000 though. I prefer to not go thru insurance companies if damages are only few hundred bucks anyway...

Never been with any other insurance company other than State Farm.

I had Allstate......they kept raising my rates, and I havent had one accident to show for it (knock on wood)..
I work for Allstate and have had Liberty Mutual for the past two and half years for my cars, home, and PUP.

Their rates are cheaper and sales and claims service is faster/better....I got out cheaper with what I have compared to Allstate with my employee discount. Go figure?!

Ditto.

I had SF years ago and was rear ended by someone with SF. My wife got whiplash and they wanted to settle for about 1/10 of the customary settlement. We had to get a lawyer and sue them.
