I have both and their not really comparable as far as driving experience. 95-96 aren't really the best years as the Targa was added with 100lbs additional weight and no hp increase. Your better off with a 91-94 or 97+. 97+ is really the way to go if you want better performance 0-60 between 4.5-4.8 cornering is better on the 97+ as well.
The targa is nowhere near as nice as the S2K convertible ,but at least it does allow you to get more air than just windows. Ride is stiffer on your S2K as well. Funny thing is a drive usually doesn't do it ,but to own an NSX is to love it people who judge it by it's hp rating have never driven it.

In my opinion, an Acura NSX can not beat a Honda S2000 around the curves and a nice open top. A Honda S2000 is about $30,000 less than a NSX and still provides an exhilarating performance with top up or down. However, if you want to buy a NSX for history and collection. By all means, go for it. Make sure that you get a good discount because it is a discontinued car. It is replaced by cars that cost 1/2 less and still give equal or better performmance. Ex. Lancer Evolution, WRX STI, and S2000. By next year the S2000 will be discontinued, and the cycle starts again.

I just sold my 07 S2000 because I had my 1991 NSX coming from the U.S.
The NSX is a special car and can be used as a daily driver. What most new NSX owners don't realize is that the car is expensive to maintain when required. Be forewarned. Its also more expensive to mod a NSX compared to a S2000. The NSX depending on modifcations can be a real scream...my car has JDM Short gears, aftermarket headers, high pressure fuel pump, and some other goodies and it goes.
Do I regret selling the S2K? Sure but it was my choice not to have 2 sportscars in my garage. I'd say the S2000 is a better daily driver but the NSX is pure joy...

Personally, for $40k, there are much better NEW sports cars out there: Elise and C6 comes to mind.

NSX? I only like the ones that were made after 2002.
Honda improved some stuff like immobilizers, Xenon headlamps, etc in 2002. The car just looks that much better.
Besides, the really early model NSXs' gearing was too tall in the lower gears and had a slightly smaller engine (3.0L vs 3.2L).
But of course, 2002+ NSXs are much more rare and much more expensive. Honda sold something along the lines of 8000 cars in 15 years, and most of they were the early models.
