Sell as 100% stock or 99% stock with very minor improvements?
I'm starting to prepare to sell my AP1 and have only two very small "mods" - an aftermarket deck with Bluetooth which works quite well and has much better sound, and AP2v1 wheels in good original finish. Do you think the car would sell for more 100% stock on AP1 wheels and stock deck, or as-is with better-looking wheels and better stereo? I know 100% stock is desirable, but it's hard to imagine making a car worse by getting rid of these changes (I think most would agree) and having it sell for more. I will probably need new tires by the time I sell, but maybe it would make sense to just buy a set of AP1 wheels w/tires and sell the AP2v1s.

I dont think those two minor changes are going to affect the price whatsoever.
Either way you set it up will net you the same basic price, whatever it may be that you settle on.

It won't make a difference. I would leave the radio but if you can sell the AP2 wheels and put some AP1 wheels on you may make a few bucks. Not really enough for it to be worth it though.

Depends on the buyer, some can be gun shy about seeing or knowing the car was messed with at all. I think a bone stock s2000 is a selling point overall these days. If its totally bone stock then I probably wouldn't even mention that I messed with the cars parts. You may or may not see a price difference, but it may speed up the frequency in which you will make a sale, opening to a wider demographic of buyers.
You will probably make more money parting out your ap2 wheels and stereo separate.

Thanks all. I will probably go with 100% stock just for simplicity and for the attention-grabbing headline. When I need new tires, I'll just buy a nice used set of AP1s w/tires, sell the AP2v1 wheels, and only be out $100-200 instead of the $700 or so it would cost me to get new 17" tires. I should have thought of that more to begin with.
Have you seen how much new in box 1st-gen iPods are going for? $20k!

You guys are insane -- AP2v1 wheels and an upgraded headunit are practically [arguably?] the only mods for an AP1 that don't really qualify as mods.
My AP1 is 100% stock, but I would have LOVED if the previous owner had made those two upgrades. I'm too lazy
Sell as-is!

However, I don't know if most people would actually pay an appreciable dollar amount more for it as-is, and I feel like advertising and showing it as 100% stock would drive more eyeballs and make up any difference.
