Default Sebring & Suzuka dropped for '07

From vtec.net:

S2000 Much to the dismay of speculators/would-be collectors, the S2000 soldiers on for another year. Mildly freshened last year with redesigned seats, a drive by wire throttle system, VSA, and a few other very minor "tweaks", the 2007 model carries over largely unchanged. In fact, the only changes that we're aware of are the colors. Drumroll please.... thanks to a helpful member of the TOV Forums, here is what's in store for 2007: Grand Prix White is only offered with a red and black interior. Suzuka Blue Metallic and Sebring Silver Metallic are gone. Everything else stays the same. As has been the case every year for about 4 or 5 years running, the S2000's future beyond the upcoming model year is uncertain. There are rumors that a successor is under development, but nothing is very solid at this point.

Sorry if repost

i thought they would of stopped it because 07 vehicles have to have tought side impact requirements, which is why many cars are being redesigned for 07.

Maybe, but the S2000 has already performed well in previous NHTSA side testing, as good as many cars with side airbags. Of course, if a big SUV hits at window level....

I believe I read somewhere that the S2000 received a 5/5 for side impact safety. That suggests to me that the S2000 may already meet those 'tougher' requirements and may not need to be redesigned or dropped for that reason alone in '07, whereas other cars may not already meet those requirements and thuse are being redesigned. I would not automatically expect that the S2000 would be canned in the US market simply because of changing safety requirements.

Furthermore, I doubt very highly that Honda would have put the time and money into making the changes that they made to the '06 model if the car would only meet safety requirments for one more year in a market area that consists of more than half of the distribution of that particular car (US).
