The California Car Duster is a long-handled hand "mop" with a thin coating of paraffin. It does a nice job of picking up dirt. A duster and Zaino Z-6 detailing spray does a nice job of keeping my '02 New Formula Red looking lustrous between washes.
We got this color because the dealer let us have it below MSRP...I was originally thinking white or blue, but I have no regrets. Red's such a natural color for a car like this.

A few years ago I went to traffic school for speeding in my red 4-runner. They told me that white was the #1 ticketed car because you can see it better at night. You better stick with red.

Maybe I'm a little biased!

While going to college I worked at gas station with a automated car wash. The local police/sheriff and State Patrol would stop by to wash their cars. They always talked about the red cars as " Arrest-me-RED ", and then they would laugh!

From a maintenance standpoint ....... red will be easier to touch-up when compared to a metallic paint.

I always thought white was a good color .... doesn't show dirt as fast and easy to touch-up.
It would also be kind-of like a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I am now 26 years old... from 16-25 I have had ONE speeding ticket. 6 months of s2000 ownership during my 26th year, I have had 3 tickets. One cop who was coming the other way and crossed the grassy meidan even asked me how I liked my car before giving me a 72 in a 60 zone in the middle of no where. This car is a ticket MAGNET.

I have just recently owned the Red and I am very pleased with it, I have owned, white, silver, black, blue, and primer colored vehicles, and I am surprised to say that this Formula red is really low maintnence compared to most. Red actually hides some dingy colors really well, in Kentucky the weather changes constantly so you'll always end up driving in different patches of weather. As long as I keep the bugs off its hard to tell its dirty. (unless its a car show) This is also comming from a person who is a little too anal about car care. Hope you love the red as much as I do !

Well, I am now the happy owner of a brand spankin' new red S2K. Just picked it up today.

Wow! What an incredible car. And the red is luscious.

As for cops, I noticed it's pretty hard to exceed the speed limit without cranking up the RPMs into the forbidden 5500+ zone, so I guess I won't have to worry about tickets for the first 600 miles.

Thank you all for your suggestions, and lemme just say I am so proud to be a member of S2KI. Y'all are great!

Now how do I change my status to owner.....? And I gotta figure out this signature thing.
