How much I loved my S2000 while driving it, I hate it right now...

My S2000 seats got stolen last night....again. It happened to me a couple of months ago as well. Does anybody have similiar experiences and suggestions to share? I would think so as all the dealerships around here (Houston) have had a few seat-less S2000 the last couple of months.

A few questions:
1. does anybody in the Houston area have had similar experiences? Anything to be done about it? I see S2000 seats on sale on eBay ... Anybody aware what happens to these seats; who is buying them; what for and most importantly ... where people get these seats (got the hint)?

2. last time it took the dealership about 10 weeks to get the seats replaced as they are ordered part by part. Is this similar to other people's experience? I hate to spend money on a rental while my car's repair is taking unnecessarily long.

3. this seat stealing thing annoys me so much that I am seriously considering selling the car after I get it back from repair. Since the police is not doing much, anybody any alternatives to stop this from scam happening?

4. and here it goes the (though I would not be doing this for a long time) ... but anyhow ... for sale ... 2001 S2000, +/- 16000 miles, excellent condition, no accidents. Available Jan/Feb 2003 (once I get it back from repair). Any offers to wix_26@hotmail.com

Thanks for anything usefull to help me through this hassle!

A disappointed S2000 fan from Houston.

Eurorunner,

Check this thread. He still has some seat locks left. A bunch of us Houston owners ordered them and received them already.

you would also need to register as an owner in order to be able to order a set of these seat locks that blueirishS2k is talking about.

Get the seat locks.

As for your question what are they used for....they put them in integras and civics. 3 out of the 4 bolts are a perfect fit, and it's easy to fit the fourth. A few kids I know have them. Whether their seats are stolen or not, I don't know. Hope it never happens to me.

Sorry about your loss (again). Punks should have explosive diarrhea for days. I would tend to believe if I saw S2K seats in an Integra or Civic that more than likely it would be stolen. Who would pay the amount new when you could get Sparco's or something.

Is there something that you can do to the seats that will deter the thieves from stealing them?
I dont mean trash them so they dont want them!
If you personalise them somehow then they become less useful to the thief unless they're using them in their lounge room.
Unique items although often better are less attractive to thieves since people would notice them easier.
Im not even going to suggest that you reupholster them in pink but Im sure youve got a bit more imagination then those F&F FOOLS.
It sucks when these sort of experiences can ruin such a fine car.
Good luck.

i do have a pair of black stock seats for sale for 825 out of my 2000, 35k mile old

check www.houston-imports.com there were 2-3 pairs for sale.

when you install the mcgard bolts, i think its a good idea to make a small mark or hide a piece of paper with your vin or your name somewhere in the cushion or use touch up paint/ or marker to mark underneath the seats or the rails.

i think honda should come up with a vin etched/numbered seats or something

sorry about your loss
