Default Seats Are On Lock Down!

Just replaced the seat bolts with the seat locks from Koldakan (Thanks!). Very simple install process with a socket wrench. I think they will give me better peace of mind knowing that my seats are staying put inside my S2K. I just wonder if potential thieves will slash the seats in frustration when they discover that the locks are preventing them from stealing them ("If I can't have them, nobody can have them!").

Don't sweat such anxieties. Just remind yourself that now they won't be able to get them. Hell, if they're relatively stupid/inexperienced thieves, they'll encounter the "funky-bolts" and just assume they are a special bolt for our roadster. They'll probably just walk away to rob another day . Do yourself a favor and order SensiRick's McGard window decals now.

I'm in group 7 for this mod. Can't wait for them to arrive . Glad you've got 'em installed .

You know I was going to get some after having my seats stolen but look at it this way:

1. Once they cut the top my deductable is gone so I am really only helping the insurance company.
2. If I wanted the seats and could not get them out I woud probably just up the persons car.

Any thoughts?

Shock,

I this case, I'd expect that thieves are targeting an S expressly to grab the seats and sell 'em quick. They're probably not vandals, so I think there's some value here in the deterrence factor. That said, these people aren't exactly scrupulous, so who knows whether they'd take it out on the seats or not...

Even if they slash the seats, it's a lot cheaper to replace seat covers that it is to the whole seat assembly.

A small cut into the foam won't destroy the seat, so you could just put a new cover over it.

The wait for parts is the bad part. 1-2 months back ordered from Japan. This alone makes the boths worth it. I can drive with a slashed top, but not without seats.

True. I had to wait about 3 weeks when it happened to my car. Which really sucked!
