Default Seat Removal Question

I've read several threads in which people mention removing their seats for detailing purposes, so my question is:

How difficult is it to remove the seats in the S2K? Is there anything I should watch out for?

Also, has anyone ever removed their seats in another Honda (i.e., Prelude, Accord, Civic)? Is it the same process?

Recently, I got some water in the passenger side foot well of my Prelude. . . I was able to soak up most of the water with towels, but I still need to remove the seat (to clean the carpets) to prevent mold/mildew.

Thanks.

Both seats are held in with 4 bolts each. You may have to remove a small plastic cover to find the bolts, but the S2000 bolts are all exposed. The only precaution (for the S2000) is that the driver seat has a wire harness (seat belt indicator) under the seat that has to be unplugged before you lift it out. It takes about 5 minutes to remove one.

4 bolts hold the seats down, that's it. Just watch for the plastic when moving them in or out of the car, having a person to help is VERY useful.

So simple with the top down. The seats are really light too, so as long as your careful, you can do it yourself.

I have done this more than once, without any difficulties.

Do yourself a favor a get some seat locks from Kodokan. That way it won't be so easy for a thief to remove your seats. After you've done it you'll understand how quick and easy it is for them too!!!

and be careful when you lift them out. it's very easy to scratch the car if you're not careful.

there is an electrical snap connector under the drivers side - be sure to disconnect properly and to not just pull to break that wire...I believe its the seat belt sensor power...

Also when removing seat - although quit simple - be sure that the car is parked & not moving as vehicle in motion can cause other difficulties when removing seats.

Use masking tape to mask off the plastic panels in the rear and on the side. I've had mine scratched on the driver's when I took off my seats by myself
