I've been out of town since I posted the first message about my seat heaters, so haven't been able to respond to some of the questions.
I don't have pictures, and I think that because I'm not a member I couldn't post them if I had them.
The brand I bought is "Check" - their web site turns up on a search for "Check Seat Heaters." They do not sell retail, but they will identify an installer.
Check suggests $250 per seat installed. The upholstery guy who installed them said he would charge more to do these in an S2000 if he ever had to do another one! Apparently there is not a lot of room to work.
The install taps into the fuse block, and runs wire down the sill, over to the center of the car, and up into the console. The switches are between the radio and the shift lever. I've seen photos of others in the same place.
If a person was comfortable with the wiring and with taking the seat covers off (and putting them back on - that's the hard part), I think it could be a do-it-yourself project. I certainly didn't want to tackle it.
If you install, don't tap into the fuse in the power supply to the air bag. My installer did, and that cost me a trip to the dealership to reset the air bag controller. I had no idea that losing power could screw up the air bag, but apparently it can.
By the way, the manufacturer has a three-temperaure unit available. It's not described on their web page, so I don't know the differences. It would be nice to have a slightly lower setting to just keep on on those cool days.
