I got a safety recall notice from AHM
today via mail.

It reads:
"Under certain conditions, the seat belt retractor can deform and cause complete or frequent locking of the retractor."

Has anyone here gone thru with the fix on our seat belts? Is so, can you please explain what the problem is and share your experience.

Thanks

Not really experience but.
I was talking with the service manager last
week and he said the recall was because the seat belt would not rewind after you took it off. It would just hang there.
He also told me he doesn't have the parts yet to fix it.
Maybe some other dealer might.

Just spoke to the service manager at my dealership, and he said this only applies to certain VIN's, so everyone won't be getting the notice. Assuming this is true, unlike the 2nd gear grind problem they do know exactly which VIN's this problem affects.

I had the recall seat belt parts installed. I was not having any problems with the belts, but had it done at the same time as the syncro's to avoid another service visit.

They had to remove both seats, the console, most of the plastic panels behind the seats, roll bar covers, rear trunk panels, etc.

I was shocked when I stopped in to see how things were going and saw my interior dismantled!

Just wondering if this is a recall for all S2000 in US or just the selected ones? Anyone knows?

I took mine in for the syncros yesterday and they are doing the seat belts at th same time. I got a call today that the syncros were done but when they re-assembled it he did not like the sounds from the clutch/throw out bearing. He is seeing if he can get the parts quickly for the new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. If so he is replacng them as well.

I think you are referring to the top cover replacement in the following bulletin:
