Default SCREW the glass rear window!

I've now been beating myself up over this stupid 2002 S2000 with the glass rear window for weeks thinking I have to have one. Well SCREW IT! I don't! Who cares if I have a glass window or not. This is a convertible for crying out loud. What good is a glass window when the top is down like it should be?

Well I like my 2001 with my plastic window. And another thing, the Red/black interior in my Silverstone is the best interior available for the S, and now you can no longer get it. Same goes for the Silverstone.

So it all sounds like a toss-up to me.

Who's with me?

I'm with you. I hardly have the top up anyway. The only time I really have the top up is when I wash the car. Besides, we're lighter than the glass window guys.

I mean, where on earth did Honda get such a ridiculous idea for a glass window in the first place?

Oh, yeah ..... here .....

What pisses me off is that they barely even raised the window sticker. I think we 2000-2001 owners should get some money back.

You old school owners keep convincing yourselves that all the upgrades in the '02 model suck so you can feel better about yourselves, but you know they all rock! Well, except for the new red and blue interiors.

Nah, I'd be a little pissed too, but what can you do? Unless you can trade up without a big loss, I wouldn't worry about it. Count yourself fortunate to have such a kick-ass car!

I love the idea of a low maintenance rear window, but after seeing it, I am not happy with amount of black fabric area added from the rear deck up to the bottom of the glass.

Those with 2002 models have much more than the rear glass to feel good about. The transmission has been improved, a better sound system, chrome accents, improved clutch, PVC console cover, aluminum dead pedal, etc, etc.

If rear glass is your primary reason for trading up then you might feel a bit of buyer's remorse after doing so, unless you land a very lucrative deal.

My car just turned 14K miles and I have been seriously thinking about a trade-in until last weekend. The 2002 is a great car, just like the previous two model years are. I just cannot justify a trade, in my case, just for a change in paint color, given the expense involved in doing so.

In terms of rear glass vs. plastic, I am top down almost all of the time. I don't drive it during the winter months and cannot even justify the hardtop.

I'm only gonna worry about the glass window when my top wears out. Then I might consider changing the top/frame as necessary. Until then, I have plenty of Meguiar's plastic cleaner and plastic polish to use up until then!
