Try removing the scratches first. I've been able to buff out some amazing scratches with the right chemical compounds. Beyond this there may be some airbrush touch ups that cost less than a new hood.

I'll upload a picture for ya when I cna figure out how to. I can find them for civics, integras, and jeeps but not for the S2000. They run around $350.00-750.00 + 135.00 shipping. So they are about hafl the price of the carbon fiber hoods and some have warranties against yellowing from the sun. They come in either plexi-glass or lexan, and either clear or color tented clear. I found a few websites but I was an idiot and didn't book mark them! I figure for the price of a carbon hood I could get one of these and put a few chrome accents as well as some red hoses in.....that is saying I can find one of these that fits an S2000. And also saying that a detailer can't fix my hood.

If you can't feel the scratch with your fingers, then it may only be a damaged clear coat. I used turtle wax scratch remover on my S before. After a few coats, it will remove light scratches on the clear coat.
