SC'd S2000 does very well in upcoming C&D tuner car challenge

C&D is running an upcoming feature on tuning cars which includes the Comptech SC'd S2000. Flyin Miata was asked to participate, and one of their people (Keith) gives up a sneek peak editorial on the event.
"But the fastest car of the lot was the supercharged S2000. It was in its element and spectacular to watch. Perfect launches, lots of power, massive tires and the power delivery was fine for the track"

There are some serious dumbasses over there. Like the guy who was complaining about the lack of torque in an S2000. Then when someone told him it makes more torque everywhere in its powerband than a Miata, he says it's the ratio of horsepower to torque that really bothers him...

its too bad that idiots and trolls exist on all car boards.
in my experience, the Miata is a fantastic car and most owners are good people. unfortunately (as is the case with the S2000) a few knuckleheaded owners can cast a long shadow across the entire group of owners.

Yeah, I saw that idiot's comment that the S2000 makes too much horsepower compared to its torque output. By his logic, the S2000 would be better if it only made 160 HP to go along with the 153 lb/ft of torque. Maybe he should only rev the S2000 to about 6000 RPM and he won't have to worry about all of that unnecessary HP.

Having owned four of the "popular" open top sportscars of late (Z3, Miata, MR2-S and now S2000), as far as the Miata is concerned, it IS a blast to drive. I'd give its "blast factor" a solid:
As for the S2000 however, despite having no LINEAR torque (WTF?), it's blast rating remains crystal clear. Enjoy.
