sand in my intake
#42
If this is the case, perhaps the sand got in because the filter on top of the box wasn't sealed down properly, and repairing this will solve the matter for the future. But IF the arc filter is on top of the box, and therefore does its "filtering" BEFORE the air enters the box, I would think that sand in THIS box would be a possible problem for the engine, because there is no filter between the interior of the box and the throttle body. My modified stock air box does not pose a problem if trash gets in the air box (which it does), because the air has to pass through the filter before entering the throttle body, and the trash is blocked by the filter. But if the intake design is such that sand and other trash that gets into the air box has already passed by the filter BEFORE entering the airbox, that would be a problem I would want to fix pronto.
Thanks,
Richard

Is there any sand flowing out of the tail pipes?
Any telltale sand mounds under the exhaust after parking overnight?

no sand flowing out of the pipes also...
Did sand get beyond the air filter? I thought we had finally settled on the notion that it had not.
