Salvage Title S2000
I have noticed that there are a lot of theft recovery salvage title S2000's for sale, what gives?
Where is the best place to find a used S2K? I dont want a salvage title or an 'abused' one.

Is it worth thinking about buying a S2000 that is a theft recovery with salvage title?
Unless you are a very special person with deep pockets and a big shop, this is not a good gamble to make to save a few bucks.

I'm part owner of a body shop. Granted, I don't do the repair work...I handle the business end. However, I see what people pay to have salvage cars fixed. It usually ends up being very close to the price of a very good used one with warranty. Remember, a salvage title voids Honda's warranty. That's true even if it is a salvage 05.
If you plan on the doing the work yourself, you may be able to save a little. But, with the price of parts for the "S", your labor savings will most likely be offset. Unless you find one with very little body damage, I can't see purchasing it.
IMO, The only time a salvage vehicle would make sense to buy is if you plan to build a dedicated race/track car.

* make sure to do VIN check.
* make sure to do some research on selling party:
1. how reliable, dealer vs. private party
2. how mature the driver seems
3. through inspection of the vehicle by trained mechanic
* if the price is too good to be true, better be wary; it's ok to pay little more if you think the car is great condition.
* salavage title must be disclosed and should be easier to spot.
* "abused"?? well, depending on how badly...if it's really bad, it may be obvious, but most cases perhaps you can't tell...
if you want really want to be safe, go with Honda certified with extended warranty.
