S2k's running 14.4's - 14.6's??????
I know S2k's can run 13.90's all day long however, every single one i see at the track is running 14.4's to 14.6's, i am about to get my first S2k and i would like to know how to get that 13.9 so i can prove that the car can really hit a 13.9 stock. Please help. Thanks

To be honest, if you get the S2000 because you want to be able to run 13.9's, you will be disappointed. You might be able to get some 13.9's... but you will fry some clutches and break a few diff's. The car isn't meant for that sort of abuse. It's meant for on track abuse.

A good example: Last year at the local track a fellow with a new ( 2000 miles ) S2000 made a couple of passes in the mid 14s; he was dissappointed as he too believed that the S could "run 13.90s all day long." I told him that with the weak low end of the S200, he'd have to dump the clutch at 5000+ rpm to get a good launch. The next run he did just that and was rewarded with a 13.9. He was smart though, and that was the last run he made. He just wanted the slip to prove that his was a 13-second car....

I am not buying the car to run a 13.9, i am buying the car cuz i love Honda's and the s2000 is my dream car. I just wanted to see how hard it would be to pull a 13.9. If i could do it once that would be the last time i ran it i just need the slip thats all. Plus i have a lil competition with my friends (RSX Type-S, 2004 Golf R32, 5.0, 5 Speed SHO, 1.8T GTI).

I dont know why everyone hates on the 1/4 mile its fun. I ran 14.0 with intake and ext. Then I ran 12.8 with a turbo and a stock clutch, Now I should run a 11.5 or better with the new motor. If you like 1/4 mile then do it
