Default S2k's are chick cars...

Bold statement was made to me as i am searching to purchase an S2k. Just got approved for a loan and im at work and they didn't even say it to my face. A friend walked by a girl who was talking about it amongst other chicks and told me. I know people are going to jump out and deny it but you drive the car. My question is how many people in social situations will say "oh isn't that a chick car?" or friends tease you. I'm just curious. thanks!

Never happened to me. Miatas are more "chick cars".

Chicks just love S2000's. Maybe thats what they mean.

If you're so concerned about image with this car then buy a Porsche or BMW.

I've always thought convertibles look like chick cars, but once you get behind the wheel of a S2000 that thought quickly diminishes.

However, they do look waaaay better with hardtops.

not concerned about positive image like porshe or bmw. the concern is about negative image. please stay on topic. You could have recomended a sentra base model too.

Nope, that won't work. I've seen chicks driving BMW's and Porsche's. I also saw a chick driving a Viper. Also, here in Texas you see a lot of chicks driving F-150's. Does that mean guys can't drive any of these?

I dont know a whole lot of chik cars that do not have an automatic trans as an option or a limited slip rear diff. as standard equipment or a ride that is considerd by many to be way to stiff or a staggered wheel set-up or forged internals from the factory or can knock out sub 14 second quarter mile times in stock form.....the list goes on and on. Feel free to memorize this or print it out to show your friends. I'm sure peole will see this post and add more to the list of why this isnt a chick car.

It is on topic... why the concern about the image?

People who make comments like that obviously know very little about hte S2000...
The suspension is stiff, very small mirror on the visor, poopy cup holders, "hand full" handling, loud top up or down...

The other question is, who are you concerned about with the negative image? The people driving the porsche? The people driving the miata?

I've never had anyone make a single comment aout the s2000 being any kind of a car (chic or other wise)... only comments ever is "nice car".

Don't buy the car if your coworkers are going to tease you about it.

It has nothing to do with any of that. This is solely on appearance.....at least, that's what I was posting about.
