Default S2K in the winter?

First post, YAY! So I need some S2K owners input. Im thinking of getting an S2K but I live in Cleveland, OH. So we get a fair amount of snow up here. It wouldnt be driven in the snow if I can avoid it, but there are times when I will have to drive it weather I want to or not. So my question is, how bad is the S2K with snow tires on it in the snow? Thanks in advance for any input.

lol good luck if you get snow like you got last year.

Do a search. Driving in snow is fine but you need to be reasonable on the amount accumulated on the roads. Don't make your poor S a snowplow!

Thanks for your help, i appreciate it. FYI....I tried the search bar in the upper right and it timed out......twice. So I made the post. Thanks for taking the time to type out a completely non-related, non-helpful response though..... And I heard from my buddy Dark Sub Rosa how cool everyone is on this board, and I get this crap on my 1st post. I am no internet n00b, check my name on HondaTech or ClubSI. Whatever......I guess its the same everywhere. Anyways, back on topic, anyone have any useful comments? Or perhaps a link to the afore mentioned thread that I didnt see?

Just to name a few.

Bottom line, s2k is fine in the winter with snow tires on all 4 corners, many, including me, have driven the s2k mulitple seasons with no problems

I'll stick up for the guy who called you out first....I know the search feature doesn't work a lot it's just a very similar post was made I think two days ago.

Here's what I have to say. I've never driven my S in the winter but I live down the border from you in Wheeling, WV where there will be plenty of snow this winter. From what research I've done, I've found the S is very driveable in the snow, slush, ice if you have snow tires. I've been pointed towards the Blizzak ws50 which is more of a snow tire than the Blizzak lm22. The lm22 offers more performance/handling but it's not quite as good in the bad weather. There are other makers that have good reports but Blizzak is what I'm going to use.

From what I've heard, snow tires are the only mod that is a must. I'd guess you might not want to be lowered and might not want a front lip...for obvious reasons. The hardtop insulates better but our heating system is fine w/out it. It's also nice to have the glass rear window for scraping/defrost purposes.

A mysterious man that goes by xviper on here lives in Calgary and throws his S around all winter so maybe check what he's had to say about this and everything else in the world related to the S2000.
I hope this helps.

Hi fellow Clevelander. I am in my first year of ownership with the S2000. I just picked up some Blizzak WS-50s for this winter. With everything that I've read on this forum the car will be okay with snow tires. Worse case scenerio, you may want to consider a beater. I may be depending on my Ford Escort for the deep stuff. Time will tell. Visit the Ohio forum and introduce yourself.

I drive my S all year round, and we get our fair share of snow in Philly (sometimes ). Snow driving can most certainly be done, but just remember what you're driving. With good all season or snow tires, you can do most day to day commuting once the roads have been cleared.

If you do a search, you'll see I drove to Detroit in the middle of January on my stock S02's during a white-out. I was picking leather out of my ass at the end, but no problems at all! Just show the car some respect.
