No, touching a child *IS* reason enough to be put on a sex offender list.
Very close to this situation, but the kid pulled a weapon and the cops were called. Note that this is state-specific.

That's funny...since you quote an "unlawful" detain of a minor......a minor breaking the law, especially above the age of 13 can and will be charged as an adult. Considering the eyewitness, it is a no-brainer. Detaining a minor who has broken the law in front of a law-abiding citizen who places the minor under citizen's arrest is completely LAWFUL.
Isn't it an offense in California where if someone brandishes a weapon that looks like a gun - or makes others think it is a gun - is prosecuted as if they had the real thing? This was supposedly done after all the freeway shooting incidents several years back.

yeah I believe it is a crime in NC as well, if someone rbandishes anything that LOOKS like it could be a real gun. Even if you bring a water pistol to school now painted black or silver or whatever, you get expelled and charged.
Yet I do know in Matthews, NC you can brandish 10 guns while on your own property if someone apporaches you, even in broad daylight and tell them you will fill them with 100 bullets if they take one step towards you.

I didn't know this s2000 forum was full of detectives to take on the investigation. The fact is that the kids race is irrelevant in this thread.
