S2K Track Report in February's Car & Driver
#1
I don't usually buy car magazines unless the S2000 is featured. I'm glad I bought February's issue of Car and Driver. Not only does it have a nice full-page ad with a silver S2K, but also has an interesting article on racing the S2000, with several good photos of a red one. Lots of kudos for King Motorsports for their preparation of the roll bars, double-adjustable coil-overs, and Borla muffler. (I don't know if they used the Borla 4" tip version - there was no report of melted valences!) Another interesting choice was the use of Hoosiers tires (anyone ever tried these?); the reporter said these were the choice of a lot of drivers for track racing. Interesting.
I wonder what sort of time Greg gets at Gingerman. This reporter managed in the 1:38s. What's your best time Greg?
Overall, a good report of the S2000 performance at the racetrack. Worth reading. Pity the new Mazda MX-5 Miata on the next page; the report wasn't very kind - more HPs but loss of performance over the previous year's model. With a 0 - 60 of 8.1, I don't think it'll take more than 7k revs for our S2K to blow this one away! (Then, of course, the Miata is about $11,000 cheaper!)
