alright, so I'm an id10t. big whoop. but, my friend works at nasa, and they actually developed material that will absorb radar/laser, making it impossible to get a reading. I can actually have new body panels made with this coating on them.....for a bargain of only about $60k for the whole car.

I was on I80 across pennsylvania, and of course with all the construction zones there were a gazillion of those "your speed is" displays. Out of 6, three registered me as zero, and the other 3 registered me about 5-10mph under what I was actually doing (it registered the cars in front and behind me correctly.)
Is this because it's low/has no big flat front space to reflect radar? Or am I just nuts.

I also tested my V1 and Escort 8500 radar detectors at the same time. I was curious to see which detector would warn me of the radar threat first. I am sorry to report that both detectors went off too late. By the time either detector sounded an alarm, he already knew my speed. Of course he was using "instant on" mode which I believe is hard for either detector to pick up. But, please keep in mind, this is the mode most troopers use.
Watch you speed while traveling in PA guys!
So much for modern "radar detector" technology...
