Default s2k tough to radar?

I was on I80 across pennsylvania, and of course with all the construction zones there were a gazillion of those "your speed is" displays. Out of 6, three registered me as zero, and the other 3 registered me about 5-10mph under what I was actually doing (it registered the cars in front and behind me correctly.)

Is this because it's low/has no big flat front space to reflect radar? Or am I just nuts.

Don't assume it goes under the radar because it doesn't. Plenty of folk have "radar" speeding tickets to prove it.

In my recent 3500 miles trip, I went through a lot of those construction radar signs. Each and every one of them displayed my EXACT speed at the time. The S2000 is not invisible to radar or lazer. You may have simply been at an odd proximity to another vehicle.

I agree. The automatic readers are always accurate for me.

Maybe someone behind you is lazer shifting!

weird. I was pretty far spaced...maybe my speedometer is way off. I just thought it was weird that so many of them were not registering a reading at all.

S2000 speedos are usually very accurate - within 1 to 2% off.

hehe, a common myth is that a black car or a car with little reflective surface in front such as "tuck away" headlights and no license plate is harder to get a radar or lidar/laser reading.

this couldn't be further from the truth. in fact, they even tested a lot of these fallacies on myth busters.

because radar tends to flood an area with radar waves, chances are the signal was getting confused with other vehicles around you.

harpoon, a laser shifter would not affect radar. two completely different things.

You guys just don't try hard enough.

I'm going to Vegas in a few weeks. Covering my car with aluminum foil first, from bumper to bumper- even the windows. Lets see the cops radar me then.

Junkie, you've got it all backwards, man. Foil reflects radar BETTER -- you'll be a sitting duck.

What you do is, cover your car with double-stick foam tape. Not only will the radar waves stick to it and not bounce back to the cops, it'll protect the car from gravel dings and so on.

And bugs.
