S2K side bolster supports
When i swapped out seat pans, to put my JDM s2K seat in my GSR, I noticed that there is a metal support that runs along the inside of the side bolster. it is for the bolster that is closest to the door. I only have the driver seat (JDM passenger) and so the bolster support is on the left side. but there isnt one ont he right hand side of the same seat. i guess it is for getting in and out so when you drag your legs or butt across the bolster, the support prevents it from collapsing.
It has always been my plan to cut the stock bolster off and weld it to an EG seat pan and while Im at it have another one made for the other side.
well I finally had someone weld it one and fab up a duplicate for the other side. he is a retard. no spatial orientation what so ever.
here is what the normal side bolster support looks like
this is what he made
Do those ever remotely look similar?
well after using a monkey wrench to straighten out his mistake this is what the result is.
Also when i swapped my new seat pan in I noticed another problem. The seat cushion has a gap for the left side support but the right hand side does not. so I had to use a box cutter and cut the foam to fir the other bolster inside.
Now the bolsters hug by thighs like my sparco seat did.

I dunno my dad picked them up for me while I was in San Diego. I cant imagine it cost to much. the spare seat pan cost 20 bucks. (i was using my stock DC2 seat pan at first)
and my dad didnt ask to pay him back so i gues like 20 bucks or so.

The bolster, I hate that thing. After a while the seat settled around it and it started to dig into my hip/thigh, almost got another seat til I figured out that I could just rip it out. Like you said I think it's mainly so the seat doesn't flatten out from getting in and out of the car. Took mine out a while ago and the seat still looks like stock.
