Default s2k and rear tire wear

ok, i admit i've been driving a little fast since i got my S last nov.. but i got Kumho ASX (great tires btw) w/ 40,000 mile warranty hoping that they'd last at least 30k miles.

but after 4000 miles, 1/3 of the tread is already gone??!!! do u think i can get a new pair from kumho under warranty??? LOL!

*edit.. just checked that the warranty is for 30k miles.

If you went through a good tire company, sometimes they will pro-rate the tires for you. Which means if you get 20000 miles out of the tires you will have one third left. Example: if you paid $100/tire and you have one third left they will give you $33/tire. Most of the time it is in store credit only or manufactors credit.

As for the spirited driving, I have yokohoma avs es100's on my car and put about 4000 miles on them and they are more than half gone. Only in the rear, the fronts are in decent shape. Oh well, all in fun right?

You must drive pretty damn hard. I have BFG G-Sports all around, with 5000k miles on them. Still pretty much brand new. Maybe 2mm down.

that's probably better wear than the OEM Bridgestone RE050's ...you can see bits of rubber attached to the inside of the rear fender well and I've only got 1900 miles on it!
