Default S2k Noise on the Freeway

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting an S2000, but I'm concerned about how loud it is while on the freeway. I've take a test drive and around town it's not a problem. Does the defuser thingy help with wind noise? Does driving with the top up on the freeway muffle the wind, but amplify the engine? I know I'm being a wimp, but I drive an Accord right now, so I'm a bit sheltered.

Thanks!

A test drive is the only way to be sure...

its a lot noisier than a regular car, but I don't mind it. I drive about 60 miles a day on highway, just fyi..

now that its been getting cold, ive been putting the top up, but during the warmer months I loved hearing the wind.

The difuser thingy does not cut down on the noise, only the wind... and not very well. But the noise thing is what the S2000 is. Like I just read in another post if you don't like the wind or noise buy an Accord. If you want the true sports car get an S. Good luck.

It's actually pretty quiet on the freeway with the top up. A test drive will answer your questions.

It all depends on what you are used to driving. Compared with a Lexis, the S2000 is very noisy. Compared to my last ride, (85 Carrera Targa) the S is a Rolls Royce. A test drive that includes freeways is the only way to be sure the car is right for you.

My soft top is almost always down, but then, I sometimes have the hardtop on instead. With this combination, the S is has two different personalities. A nice quiet ride with excellent insulation when I want some comfort. Top down without the hard top when I want to experience the outside elements, noise, outdoor ambiance, wind in the hair, ... you know, when I let the dogs out. Part of the appeal of the S is that it has multiple personalities. Sort of like a night with Renee Zellwegger, then waking up the next morning with Scarlett Johansson. This car never bores me.

You know, something about the way you described it, but I fully understand what you're trying to say!
