S2000 was my first manual car and it was the car I learnt how to drive stick (my 01 spa I had) I had a friend next to me who learnt how to drive a stick the day before me for 40 mins ^^;;
After 30 mins of burnt clutch smell, engine shut off every 2 mins, I got the hang of it. By a week after, I was able to drive around like other people.
I still don't have any track experiences though, don't have any cool driving techniques I can do for fun on the road either. Hopefully I'll learn them soon.
It sucks that they don't have any driver's ed that teaches manual in my town.

Like many others, i learned stick in my S. Well after i rented a stick car for 3 days to prepare for the S . To say the least it was a hard experience for me. I bought the car used and clutch was already almost gone, approximately 40% left. What i hated about learning in the S is that the 1-2 notchyness. To this day i still get that crap and i just changed my clutch last week(under TSB54). The only solution i can find for a smooth shift is by releasing 90%of the clutch when shifting gears (only on 2nd is this required, other gears are fine no matter which way i shift). Some may do this, some may not. Some claim im wearing it down but ive been driving the S about a year and i dont smell no clutch burnin. If im doing this wrong please let me know. Sorry about the lil hijack there but if u do experience this u can try this method and see if it helps you.

Thanks for all the posts guysd. My only real problem will be hills as I am pretty smooth at normal day to day driving. When driving the WRX I ocassionally rev too much or dump the cluth too fast, but that is something that can be remidied with practice.

In regard to daily driver, what do you guys think? I'm single and drive about 12 miles local to work. I live in LA so there is always the requisite traffic. Not worried about the stop and go as much as the practicality of a 2 seater with a small trunk. When I think about it I only really use the trunk in the RSX when I take my mom to Costco, but I can always take here car. And the most people I have in my car is 3. I like to drive, but there is always someone elses car I can take.

Give me the pros/cons of practicality in the S2K

Practicality.... Well, when you don't want to give anybody a ride, it rocks, because you have no room.

Pretty much, the car is quite impractical, but It is so much fun to drive, It's pretty, and did I mention it's fun to drive?

IMO, I think you should consider getting one, they're great, and when you are not hauling things, it's wonderful.
