Songdooweech,
I live about 10 minutes from you so I hope I can shed some light on driving the S as a daily on LI. When I first bought my car I used it everyday. I did not have the $ for a beater. I was lucky that year as I bought the car in July 2001 and we had a really mild winter (read: no snow). As for this past winter my S2000 was a driveway ornament. It did not move for three month. The S is impossible to drive on stock tires in the snow. If we have a winter like this one past you WILL need a beater of some kind. I have an 87 Buick that has basically become my primary car. Being that my work parking lot is a nightmare and I won't drive the S in rain or snow I barely get to use the damn thing, but in the end it's still worth it. If you have the means I would go for it, but I would squirrel away a grand or so by November just in case the weather takes a turn for the worst a second vehicle is needed. I hope this helps. PM with any questions you may have.

Not a daily driver for me. The car is special, too much fun to drive, lines too pretty to let some dork dent it on a parking lot...
It may be a "buyers' market right now, market dictates prices, blah blah blah.
To me this car is worth waaaay more than what it actually costs, so I "baby" it a lot.
Cheers,
Daniel

Used mine for over three years as my everyday drive. No problems. Great therapy on the way to and from work

I've had mine for more than 3 years now, and I only drive it on special occasions: I drive it to work every morning, and I take it home every night. Sometimes I take it out to lunch in the middle of the day. Other special occasions include taking it to the corner grocery store, the library, picking up the wife, going out to dinner, picnic in the park, etc. The more special occasions are: weekend drives on twisty roads, S2000 group drives, and so on. Come to think of it, I cannot recall one occasion that I drove my S2000 that was not special

Of course, for the non-special occasions, I have an Accord to haul things around.
