Default s2k engine swap

I was just wandering that after the s2k engine dies (whenever that may be) if instead of rebuilding replacing the current engine, someone would swap it for, say, and LS1 engine like some RX-7 owners do? Is this possible, and if so, would it ruin the weight distribution and the silky shifting of the s2k (if the transmission had to be replaced along with the engine) Just wandering.

Since i'm keeping my s2000 forever, i might as well just put another engine in it when the time comes and put some go fast goodies on it. I'm in college now and can't really afford to mod it, but the time will come.

I know of at least one owner on the board who is dropping a V8 into his S2000, goneverything... He hasn't completed the project yet, though, but he's confident it can be done.

Foolish grasshopper, when the time comes you will drop the S2000 for another car like a water buffalo drops t*rds. You think you'll keep your first sportscar forever, but when another one strikes your fancy, or wife says you need a family car.....

i'm sure you could given enough money...but i don't know anything about the LS1 and its dimensions or how it's laid out
but if it can fit in an RX-7 bay, why not?
