disclaimer: I don't condone constant tire chirping after my post.. I forgot to mention that was before I blew out a diff and had it replaced. After that I never tried to hear the birdies chirp much.

[QUOTE=xennon,Oct 4 2005, 09:06 PM] Hey guys I'm a new S2K owner and I opened it up for the first time this week and the car doesn't seem to break loose from 1st into 2nd going in a straight line.

What (besides showing off) would you even desire by breaking loose?
Nothing. It's just a manifestation of low self esteem. He can't feel good about himself unless others give him attention.

I never had a problem chirping the tires on the 1-2 shift even when bone stock with 18's and 265's, especially when it's cold out, but I stopped doing it once I went FI, too much stress on the drivetrain imo... and there's no point in doing it really, not worth breaking something just to hear the chirp.. But if you want to do it, just shift at redline and make sure it's a quick shift.

It's so sad to see such comments from some members (skier219 and Helios8) who seem more interested in judging people other than helping. I asked this question because I thought there would be something wrong with my car and thought the knowledgable people of this forum would be able to provide some insight. Now I do think I could have worded parts of my question better but hey I never claimed to be an english scholar.

Lets see here...when I have an urge to push my car it's usually on a road where there is no one else around, I'm sure this is the same for the rest of the people here. So who do I have to show off to or impress? I just thought that hey why is it that my little civic is able break loose from 1st to 2nd and my S2K doesn't seem to? But now thanks to the other members whom were willing and had some useful info to share I now know why...ie the clutch delay valve.

Since the answer was provided to this question I really do not understand the point of such useless comments? I could reply with a more insulting comment but guess what....it would be useless as well!

No need to chirp the tires in an S...you will go through the rears quickly without squealing the rubber on a regular basis.

Honda put an LSD on the car from the factory for a reason.

xxenon... no need to explain yourself... ive done it on the track for the hell of it- why not? Why do I drive fast on the track or autocross? its only damaging my car, wearing out my tires, my brake pads, using gas.... hahaha... I have fun in my car, thats what its for- if I want it to last forever ill take care of it, or let my mom drive it
Drive it like ya stole it- its not an accord!

Don't worry man, most people are helpful. Only people who have nothing to add or are insecure about themselves need to make such comments like that.

I have an FI AP1 and it chirps in 4th .

I noticed a couple thread either in here or in the honda tech forums about a modification to the AP2 that removes the slave cylinder lag in the clutch.

You might want to check that out.

Enjoy your new S.
