S2K Colors and Pricing?
#21
When I bought mine, I didn't want white, black or silver. I also wanted red interior, followed by black. There aren't many for sale in my area, out of the 3 I test drove, 2 were black and 1 white. There's weren't many of color even posted. I ended up with a GPW with tan interior, which was at the lowest of my list interior wise.
Had S2Ks been harder to come by around here then I know I probably would have approached things differently when it comes to buying one of these cars. After further thought, I feel fortunate to be participating in a thread like this. Not only were there a good number of these cars to choose from locally, but as gerry100 alluded to elsewhere in this forum, other cars often present their owners with far more serious problems and topics like color combos don't really come up on their associated forums.

I'll reveal that when I bought my first S I knew I wanted silver, but I did not have a clue that there are several different flavors of silver. I ended up with a great car in Sebring Silver Metallic. Now, I still prefer silver, but among the silver colors that are common I realize that I have a definite preference for Silverstone Metallic. When a Silverstone came on the market in my area that had all the other aspects I was looking for, (02/03 MY, very low miles, mo modifications, black interior, one owner, all vins in place, and OEM Hardtop), I could not let it go. Once the seller got to the point that he knew for sure he wanted to sell, (which took about 6 months), I jumped on it. It was too good to let pass. I might have to wait years to find another one meeting all these parameters in my area, and I don't have years to wait. I suspect that it is even more difficult to find other colors, Silverstone is pretty common.

For me, the rarity of any particular color combo never entered into the equation. Silverstone/Black remains my second favorite combination of all. Beyond that, the more I look at these cars, the more other colors appeal to me as well. It's just a great looking car in my eyes, period.

The styling of the car makes it appealing in virtually any color for me, some look more classy and some more sporty.
Honda did a great job of covering color choices for the masses but we have some extra special colors here in the Great White North and the UK market had even more.

My requirements went like this: Condition of the car > 2006 or later (prefer 2008 or later) > LPB ( but will accept GPW, NFR, the silvers).
Took me about 8 months but found exactly what I wanted...close by too so didn't have to drive more than 1hr so just rented a uhaul trailer and picked it up after work. I can't count how many times I almost pulled trigger on something else but like others said already. They key is to be patient and have the funds ready. Don't expect to be able to negotiate.Clean examples are getting more and more rare. Be prepared to pay a premium for it. Regardless of what color, this is NOT going to be a cheap used car. Get what you want so you don't regret it later on.
