They're too busy threatening people that are:
1) "advertising" but not paying for it (i.e. offering one time deals to other members, where they are gaining no profit themselves)
2) using foul/degrading language
3) putting pictures in their signatures when only a guest
After all, one obscure post in the middle of a thread on page 3 that affects only a very small population is way more important than the first article people are greeted with when coming to this website. This is quite possibly the best example of mis-guided priorities I've seen yet.
Or maybe, since it's raising such a stink and bringing in fresh visitors (more advert hits=more $$$), it's the best example of spot-on priorities. More and more this site seems to be run as a business trying to make a buck than as a service for the S2000 community.
(maybe that will get their attention)

websites don't pay for themselves "for the good of the community". like it or not, advertising, vendors, and memberships keep this site afloat. a website must be run like a business in many ways. if it's not, then it would never survive.

Perhaps there should be an editorial section or a disclaimer of sorts, like you would see or read in a broadcast/newspaper, which states this is the opinion of the writer and does not represent the opinion of the community at large.
But this 'holier-than-thou' attitude can get a bit annoying after a while. I use to get irritated whenever someone gaped at my S, curious as to what it is, and then said something to the effect of "oh...it

I think we are about done with this topic now.
I dont like some of the attacks and language being used - I thought we could have a civil discussion about this but apparantly discussion yes, civil, no.
anyway, it has been kinda hashed out - a lot of good (and bad) points have been made and I dont think there is much else to add.
Whether you guys like it or not, there will always be a "my car is better than yours" thread/topic on any car forum - its the nature of the beast.
Deal with it and move along
