I like the fact that people think of my Evo as just an tarted up econobox. It doesn't bother me one bit. So when I see articles like the one on the front I know exactly what happened. Someone is jealous. Someone got beat, someone got their feelings hurt...

Eh. It's an S2000 site. What do you expect? This isn't some car review site, or car mag. Even then, like any of them don't ever give any kind of bias in their reviews? Please.
Aside from that, this is also a response to a number of recent EVO trolls who have had some pretty blatently flaming and incorrect information posted on our site, in a very immature and disrespectful manner.
Like it or not, the S2000 can outhandle the EVO and STi. This is usually the root of these "debates" and threads. No one is going to argue that the S2000 is faster in a straight line, because it isn't.
The majority of the article is actually pretty dead on.

Seriously guys, who cares? It just a review. Get over it and pull your panties up.

I think the article should be taken down, since it's on the front page it sort of represents us as a whole. If it was in a thread within the site then it's cool, but the front page is like "first impression" to anyone that visits this site. Not everyone that visits this site has an S2000.

this is what the Evo community has to say about it.
the article should definitely be removed.
it IS just one person's opinion, but like aforementioned, it represents the s2k community since it is posted on the front page. also it is made to be an article so that people won't be able to post their opinions/comments/objections about it - i think there's a reason for that from the writer.
both cars are wonderful for what they were built for. for some reason s2ki always have to have threads about s2k vs. vette/m cars/amg's, comparing apples and oranges. the recent "versus" threads against the Evo is now written in the form of an article on the front page. it's getting to be too much IMO and i felt the need to get it out of my system.

First of all, no it cant.
let me offer up the previous 2 years A-stock national championship results. Keep in mind, these are THE BEST DRIVERS in the country, for this kind of racing, in their respective cars.
2005: FYI, I'll stop at 19th place. Why? Because this is the first EVO to even place here. meanwhile, 11 S2000's finished ahead of the first EVO to place.

So, like it or not, for those of us who follow national championships, or even compete at the national level, the S2000 is extremely good in it's class, while the EVO is nothing more than a mediocre competitor in the same class.
And from the national level road racing events that I follow and know people who compete in, with the cars in stock form, the same applies as well.
Sorry, but that IS the facts.

Im bored at work, and have time. I will join the Evo forums and make the article writer look like a complete idiot, which he is, and save the rest of the s2000 members.
I just educated myself a little more about the Evo, and not only is the article wrong, some things are just made up....ie carbon fiber on the MR.

I don't necessarily agree with some of the opinions expressed in the article on the front page, but as for the actual factual information, it's mostly correct. Also as stated, there's nothing wrong with being based on the lancer (the JDM lancer) with its heritage and dominating rally history. To say it's based upon the USDM non-EVO lancer, is incorrect.
Regardless, it has facts and opinions. Which is exactly what it is. Every person who has ever written such articles always fuses it with some of their opinions, and that's their right, since it is basically an editorial. Just because it's on the front page of s2ki.com doesn't mean anything, and IMO, people are overreacting way too much.
