Why do so many people here think that a model upgrade is the end of the world and are so defensive about it? It happens for every single car that has ever been made. The F20C and the S2000 is a great car as it is, but I don't think that once it was finalized, Honda said "That's it! The perfect car...we will never have to do anything to improve on this thing ever!" Come on... you all knew it would change one day.

"Oh yeah, that 911 turbo is a POS fake wannabe sports car."

4 seats huh? Like two in the back and two in the front? Hmmmmm...

Not a sports car.

That's exactly what I was thinking! I'm going to be really happy if this engine upgrade happens.
LOL. You are easy to please if 10 horsepower is going to make you "happy." I'll be happy when the color chart is finally scanned in and this thread is finally laid to rest.

The original car was so well designed and built that there have only been the most minor of changes. I won't list them all but lets face it folks they have been minor. Year 2 they add a clock and the wind deflector became standard. wow. Year 3 they address the stereo complaints and the hot/cold shifter, and added a few chrome rings here and there; made minor changes to the sway bars and suspension; plus minor improvements in the transmission; and the big change - a glass window! But, my favorite the net storage pockets on the door.... There's a biggie. And, blue was added plus two silvers. And, last but not least the mid-model year the banjo bolts upgrade. Year 4 we get white/tan cars. Double wow. You get my drift. All of these cars are essentially the same. So it's not surprising that so many owner's have an interest. I'm interested but no way am I considering my car's lost any value and no way am I going to run down and trade up.

So now we hear they made some changes and everyone says we are hearing it from a solid source. How short everyone's memory is. Here's what we heard two months ago and the majority of the doubting Thomas chewed him up for reporting it:

Per a Honda Sales Manager on 03/26/2003 after a Zone 3 dealers meeting in Dallas with an American Honda rep:
• A new 2.2 liter engine that has increased hp and torque
• 17" wheels standard
• New front and rear bumpers
• Improved gear ratios for increased performance
• Spa Yellow is dropped, and a new yellow color is to be introduced
• Interior color change with the Black exterior (didn't get all the details)

Does any of this sound familiar?

Short memory?

Nobody said this is news. This is simply confirmation. The 2.2 liter rumors have been flying for a loooong time. Of course people are going to be skeptical (myself included)...this is the internet. A LOT of BS goes around...why should we believe any of it? In fact, look at this thread. Nobody believed Blair about the 2.2 liter. I can see why...many of you don't know Blair. As soon as Blair told me, I believed it. And now the official word from Honda is there for all to see.

Station,

Not that I don't believe you or Blair, but is there more to the brochure? If so, do you think you can post the rest of the scans? It looks a little incomplete.

I don't have a scanner. The scanner at work is broken. I just spent $5.20 at Kinko's to scan those two pages of the 2004 Honda Dealer Color & Trim guide for everyone. I'm not going back there!!

I only scanned the info pertinent to the S2000. If you want to see the rest, your local dealer should have the guide by now.

What is the "Updated Instrumentation"? That may be the best change of all.
