Is the S2000 your first sports car?
If it is, what made you decide to buy a sports car? What made you decide to buy an S2000? And, now that you've bought it, what do you think of it and sports cars in general?
If it isn't, what was your first sports car? When did you buy it and how long have you been driving sports cars? Tell us a little something about your sports car experience.

I came from a 05 Sentra 1.8S, and before that a 92 Prelude Si which I'd hardly call a sports car. I've never been mechanically or technically inclined with wrenching, but I've always loved to learn how cars operate. From the ecu, engine, aerodynamics, even studying physics to bolster my knowledge of how to make my car do what I want using inertia. Being behind the wheel is honestly one of my favorite things to do, even my daily commute excites me just to be driving. Put me on a mountain road at 3am, and I pretty much can't get any happier.
Why the s2000? When I was younger the evo 9 attracted me a lot, I test drove it and loved the performance of the car. However, I didn't like the way I sat in it and the way the clutch sat. I loved the prelude in that, the clutch was deeper in and the seat sat lower so it didn't seem like I was sitting above the clutch. One day I was able to test drive a s2000 finally and the second I sat down, before even starting the car I fell in love. I felt like I was sitting inside of a cockpit ready to attack the road. When driving it, it had an insane sensation. It felt like the car was an extension of myself. What I felt like I wanted to do in my head the car did no questions asked. I could take the line that I saw in my head with ease, like it was reading my brain. Now being older, with a much better job it was a no question asked transaction. I'm a driver and wanted a drivers car. The s2000 is exactly that.

My first sports car was purchased in 2004. It was a 1992 Toyota MR2 Turbo. Great car, liked it very much. I only purchased the MR2 because my brother was a used car dealer and bought it as a trade for $4,200 and sold it to me at his cost plus dealer fees. I kept it for 2 years, put 20,000 miles on it and sold it for $6,700! Used that as a downpayment and bought my S2000, a car I have wanted since 2000!
I decided to buy a sports car because I have no real need for a car with more than 2 seats, no kids to haul and I love driving cars that are made to drive, not to be comfortable in.
Coming from 2 Honda Preludes I was always a Honda guy and after a test drive in 2005 I knew an S2000 would be in my garage. When I found that I could score a nice profit selling the MR2 and found a great deal on a good S2000 I went for it in 2006, haven't regretted it once.

After I gave up my motorcycle during the summer of 1971 (I didn't really want to give it up, but I didn't want to spend any more time in the hospital either), I bought a brand new MGB. I loved the car. A Triumph TR-6 followed and then a Fiat X-1/9 and a 1952 MG-TD.
My love affair with sports cars started sometime around 1962 when one of my older sister's boyfriends gave me a ride in his Triumph TR-3. I couldn't see over the dashboard, but the noise, the gauges, the gear shift, the wind and the ride took my breath away. From that time on I knew I wanted a little, British, fun to drive sports car.
Once we started a family, and moved to Manhattan, there was no room for a sports car and so for about 25 years we had a series of Honda Accords. In the 1990s I looked at the Miata and liked it an awful lot, but for some reason I resisted. When I saw the S2000, I was sold.
The circle is complete. I have an old wooden MG gearshift knob in my S2000. My two favorite sportscars.

My S2000 is my first sports car, I have wanted one since I first sat in one at an auto show in San Francisco when they first came out. I bought mine last year it is an 06. I think the S2000 is one of the best looking cars out there and great fun to drive. I think Honda hit it out of the park with both performance and looks.

My S2000 is my first sports car. As soon as I saw the picture of it on some sports car magazine before I saw it in person, I just fell in love and am still in love after all these years...9 yrs to be exact.
It still makes me smile when I drive it daily
