I've owned just about every make of convertible available to mankind (reasonably priced that is) over the past two decades and this is the only one that gets a nod, thumbs up, etc from bikers, especially road rockets. I had three guys this past weekend actually do a 180 on the highway to follow me for a few miles just to hear some high VTEC revin', it was a blast. They really got into it. As for other S2000 owners (the few that exist here), a simple flash of the lights is usually what I do. There's a fairly small community of roadster owners up here (of all makes) so I usually reserve the lights for the Honda owners and a nod or wave to the others. Audi TT owners seem the most appreciative of my selection. The Porsche/Corvette convertible owners seem threatened (why I have no idea) and the Miata seems to have been overtaken by women who seem to be in their own world when driving and rarely acknowledge any gestures. As for Spyder and SLK owners...I rarely see 'em up here. There might be four or five in the entire northern area of Vermont, not that there is that much more of the S2K either. That's the good part of being amongst the land of SUV's and Subarus...you won't find yourself coming and going and three years into production, the car still is turning heads each day.
the car still is turning heads each day

and will forever , ever not watch an NSX go by .....

S2K is timeless

In the year+ that I have had the car, I have crossed exactly one other S2000, and we both waved, although he seemed a bit shocked to see another one (I know I was). [/QUOTE]
Our cars are far less common than down south and out west. I had the saem experience when I owned my '01 Lightning. I had it for about 18 months and saw maybe 5-8 the whole time - even saw a gorgeous blonde 20-something driving my truck the one day - we had to race I've noticed the same frequency of run-in with the S2000. I've had the car for about 3 months and I've seen about 3. Saw my exact car this morning and gave him a beep and the V-for-vtec sign

When I'm driving my Integra GSR I get alot of attention from other imports that will look at me, nod, smile, or wave. And mostly bikers will give me the nod and then I'll down shift and let them here vtec. I tried honking at a S2000 when I was in my GSR but he didn't acknowledge me, I even have him a thumbs up and smiled at his beutiful car.

When I got my S, one day another S was coming down the road in the other direection and we both honked at each other and nodded at the same time. On the freeway one day, I saw another S and I drove up next to him and he never looked over, but he did hang side by side with me for a decent amount of time.

That would be pretty silly. I'm from Buckeye land, Ohio State and we do the O H with our arms and if you are an Ohio State fan, you return the chant with a I O with your arms. It would be pretty cool, maybe for our S2000 wave we do a H O, but then I don't know how to finish off the rest for N D A.
