A quick double flash of the headlights has always been the traditional salute among roadsters.

Here's a page on the Porsche Club of America website dedicated to preserving this tradition:

Save the flash!

I've never passed one to wave at. But I like the V wave idea.

Maybe someday I'll see another. I'm sure we'll stop and share stories. I wave at "other sports cars" like Boxsters and Vettes.....there are lots of those here. I like the V myself though......

I usually just hold down the horn for a long time and tailgate them, with my middle finger displayed prominently. I haven't gotten a great response so far. I think s2000 owners must be very arrogant or something.

Seriously though, every time I see an s2000, it's like "Whoa! There went an s2000!" These suckers are too damn fast for waving.

I see them all the time here in Austin, and it's usually a very excited wave and a flash of the headlights... it always elicits a similar response!

that is because you are a female, waving at most likely a male. Guys like that kind of stuff. (especially that little limp wristed, chickenlegged Stevens boy)

V-tech is what i love most about my s2k.
My vote is for the "V" salute.

Heaven begins at 6000rpm.

Sondra,

OT, did you just move, or is my poor little brain imagining your previous life in Florida?

<sigh> it's been a rough day at work...

So....do we have concensus? A two-fingered "V" sign with an optional headlight flash? Have we now established international Stook etiquette?

hahaha yea - when I see someone else in an S2000, it takes a moment to register that it was truly a S2K, and then its too late to wave. In Cary, North Carolina I saw them regularly, but very rarely did they even acknowledge others.

Around here "Kentuckiana", you don't see them. I'm on the Indiana side and so there are very few here...I suspect there are more drivers in Louisville.
