boka,

Your car is wonderful, but the photograph itself is even better. You did a fantastic job on that one.

moonpie,

Well, some people buy it for the sound, however there is quite a bit of real benefit from a BOV, isn't there? What about the argument encircling a BOV's purpose of releasing pressure from the turbo? That's the item's whole point, after all...

I mean don't get me wrong, I don't know enough technically to put an educated two cents into this one, but.... I really never considered a BOV an ersatz mod....

I'm not claiming to be an expert (far from it) on BOVs and their use, but I've done a fair bit of reading about them and there are 2 types of BOVs out there. One is an atmospheric BOV, which vents the pressure to the atmosphere. The other BOV vents it back into the inlet something or other. With a stock turbo, a BOV can actually cause some performance degradations, but with a bigger turbo I think a recirculating BOV is recommended. There seems to be two parties that present opposing viewpoints on the usefulness of a BOV. My BOV wasn't tuned correctly and was causing an issue until someone smarter than me told me about it

But for the $300 I spent, I could have done much better

WRX...Great car...nice engine....awd is just the thing for rain and snow....Great price............But dam I still can't get use to the styling. I thing the wagon version looks better than the sedan.
There is defenitly something missing in the rear of the sedan. But if i had the cash.......my second car would be a black WRX wagon.
The picture of that one wagon in this thread is the best looking subby i have ever seen.

(With the assumption that you are going to keep the car)

Can you see yourself driving the WRX in 10, 15, 20 years?
Me personally - no way!! Too boy racer.
