S2000 vs. WRX?

My final determining rational for getting the S2000 being that even though the WRX seemed so much more practical both financially and geographically (Massachusetts) it was the sensibility of the WRX that finally pushed me away from it. I don't want to be practical, I wanted a toy , I bought it, and have NEVER regretted my choice. If I'd gone the other way and bought a WRX, I'm certain I would have had pangs of anxiety every time I saw an S2000. Any other members have similar feelings?

I seriously thought about the WRX, Mini Cooper S and 350Z... but went with the S2000 because it was a convertible and seemed to be a more "raw" performance car than the others (my 2 cents). Plus the WRX seemed a bit cheap when I sat in it. What's even worse... I was up in Van Nuys and stopped by the Dodge/Suburu dealer to have a look. The A-hole salesperson wouldn't let me drive one... and I drove up in my Viper!
i also am looking at the Mini Cooper S 350Z WRZ (not looking at it anymore) boxer and S2k
when i first drove up to the honda dealership (in my SLK320) a sales person was out and started to chat w/ me about all sorts of stuff, friendly and then asked what i wanted to look at. so he showed me the s2k let me rev it then asked if i wanted to test drive it (tho i couldnt because i still dont have FULL license) anyway he gave me info about it and said if i came back w/ parent i could drive it. well that weekend i did and i loved it.
anyway...
when i went to the subaru dealer no one around... had to go in and wait for like 5min to talk to someone then hes like what u wanna look at. i said WRX... he went to go get keys. then came back and started to show me one. i was not impressed w/ the interior at all looked very cheap... anyway i still gave it a chance asked if i could drive it... he said no... then i asked for brosures he didnt have any... so i just left.
as for the BMW/Mini dealerships... well i dont wanna start talkin about them... around here they are horrible... so i wont waste space going off on them...

Maybe this will help end the debate:
better track car - s2000
better rally car - WRX
better convertible - s2000
better AWD - WRX
better out of the box - s2000
better modding potential - WRX
better to take on a drive in the country - s2000
better to take a bunch of friends skiing - WRX
better to pick up one little asian girl - s2000
better to pick up a bunch of 18yr olds - WRX
as you can see the WRX is obviously better as you can fit more girls in the car at once

blxmjx,
I have to say, that's one of the fines examples of a WRX I've seen, to date. VERY well done.
Destiny2002,
Don't worry, I'm not. Man those websites are disturbing.... some people just have WAY too much time on their hands.....!!!
moonpie,
Hmm, $100 for a short shifter, eh? I know what you bought.... Heh, or at least I think I do. Kartboy! Wonderful little device. I own their short shifter, Knuckleball shift knob (silver & red), shifter bushings and exhaust hangars. Next are rear and front droplinks, as soon as Tom and Mark Deadrick release the new front ones.

I like both cars, but have neither yet. But someday soon . . .
Man, both are fast but can you really compare a convertible two seater to a AWD with not even a sunroof.
I think WRX delivers most bang for the buck. But I personally don't like how the front end looks and yes most of my friends thinks it's ugly. But it isn't pricey and I KNOW it is hella fun to drive.
But the S2K has a different image. It is more expensive, but not compared to a Boxster. So now you have your S2K and you are smiling because you are just as cool or whatever as the Boxster owner with $20k in your pocket. In that sense, the S2K is "pure sex appeal on a budget".
Okay, okay $35k isn't maybe affordable, but again this is for comparision's sake.
My vote obviously goes to the Honda Supercar: S2000.
