Default S2000 vs. WRX

I'm in the market for a new car. Should I get a WRX or an S2000.

The S2000 is small and cool and everything, but it's almost 10k more than the WRX which is a turbo engine and has way more power potential than the S2k.

I'm open to your opinions/suggestions.

Thanks,

Wendy

Get what fits your lifestyle right now..as for me..single guy, mid 20's...and i have a second car, the S2000 was the only way to go..convertable and fun to drive..what else is there?

the WRX isn't fun to drive? it's amazing. lifestyle isn't an issue anyway, i'm a 19 year old female with no kids or anything, i don't need to haul anything. i'm talking strickly performance and handling with price.

Wendy,

I test drove and fell in love with the WRX, but the S2k is a totally different car. If you do get the S2k just make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. I did some research and I understood that the S2k is a narrow focus car. I am very happy with my choice. Is it worth 9+K more I don't know but it all depends on what your needs are.

Get em both like me!

Seriously...The WRX has a lot more potential right now, but the S2k is so much more fun to drive. My brother in law has a 400 hp (to the wheels) wide body M3. He still wants an S2k because they are so much fun to drive.

The WRX is nice and all, but its not half the fun as the S2k. If you want something fun and eye catching get the S2k. If you want some practicality out of your car that has a lot of potential for power get the WRX.

It all depends what you want. S2000 is a true sports car. Excellent performance in all facets. Not much you can do to add to the performance. Excellent fit and finish, few on the road, convertible, leather, etc.

WRX is based off an economy car, and the fit and finish isn't up to Honda standards. I'm not in love with the way the front end of the car looks. Excellent performance, not as good handling as the S2000. You can add to the performance easy.

Its your choice. You live in Florida though, I would think you'd rather have the convertible. Plus Subie's are kind of rare down here, albeight not as rare as an S2000, but...

For the difference in price, you could make a WRX a great handling car and wickedly fast! BUT you'd then have a very specialized vehicle with no warranty. At re-sale time, this needs to be taken into account. In my experiance, people are generally shopping for a stock car with no mods (even if they intend to mod it themselves )

The balanced performance of the S2000 is such that many owners get by with very few mods. I guess you could say the S2000 is a $40,000 car being sold for the low $30s, the WRX is a $17,000 car being sold for the low $20s. As someone stated, the fit, finish, and interior materials choice bear this out.

Did I mention that the top goes down?
