gemini, sad to see your S wrecked. I remember awhile back you said you still had the HRE's in your garage. You want to sell them by any chance

This is pretty bogus, shit happens to the best of us. Sometimes adversity makes us better in a way. You definitely had a severe impact. I have seen cars that encountered simular or even less damage and the driver and or passengers died.

From the looks of it, I would say you were traveling laterally at about at least 75 mph.

Glad you are alright.

Why do people keep bringing dead posts back from the past?

This is like a year old!

Maybe I took it the wrong way, but I'm a little sensitive on that subject. The accident was pretty bad. The car was a total loss. It only had 300 miles on it. I had a huge nail in the rear right tire. But I decided not to patch it up, (since the next day, my 18" wheels and tires arrived). So I went on a drive, and at high speed. The tire let go and the car spun a few times. I met the pole. It was pretty crazy, with the top down and spining at high speed. I'm just glad no one else got hurt and it taught me a lot of lessons in life. And I still can't believe it when I look at that pix. That I just walked right out of it. If the power line snapped, it would of been a lot worse.
I'm curious what thought processes lead someone to drive at high speeds knowing there is unrepaired damage to a tire? You are one LUCKY sonofagun.

It took a substantial amount of impact to cave in the left front side of the car the way that one was caved in. Had the impact been about 1-2 feet further toward the rear of the car, the outcome could have been devastating. I have seen a lot of wrecks on and off track, that was truly a big one.

I think this is one of the lessons evo s2000 was referring to.

EDIT: I don't think anyone would do something dangerous if they thought the outcome would have an adverse affect. For example, people jump out of airplanes, but they wouldn't jump if they thought the chute wouldn't open right? A race driver doesn't go around a speedway exceeding well over 200 miles per hour if they thought they were gonna die would they? In evo s2000's case, he had a nail in his tire and did not think it would let go. I don't think he would have driven at speed thinking the tire would let go, because if he thought it would, he wouldn't have drove on that tire. I have done the same thing myself, but I guess I was lucky. This is a lesson we ALL can learn from.
